The Quiet Corner
Because you've earned five minutes of peace.
A deeply soothing, lightly sweet mocktail built around calming chamomile and lavender, with a hint of honey and tart cherry to keep things interesting. It's the liquid equivalent of sneaking behind the tool shed with a lawn chair and pretending you can't hear anyone calling your name. One sip and your eye stops twitching.
Ingredients
- 4 oz chilled chamomile tea (brewed strong, then cooled)
- 1 oz tart cherry juice
- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1.5 oz honey simple syrup (1:1 honey and warm water, stirred until dissolved)
- 2 oz chilled coconut water
- 3-4 thin cucumber slices (muddled)
- Top with splash of chilled club soda
- Lots of ice
Instructions
- Brew a strong cup of chamomile tea, let it cool completely (do this in the morning — future tired-you will be grateful).
- In the bottom of your glass or a shaker, muddle 3-4 thin cucumber slices until they release their juice. This is also an acceptable way to release frustration.
- Add ice to the shaker or glass.
- Pour in the cooled chamomile tea, tart cherry juice, fresh lemon juice, and honey simple syrup.
- Add the coconut water.
- Stir gently — you are a person who moves slowly now. You are calm. You are unbothered.
- Top with a splash of club soda for a quiet little fizz (unlike the children).
- Garnish with a lavender sprig and cucumber slice on the rim. Add the tiny umbrella. Find your corner. Sit down. Do not tell anyone where you are.
