Filthy Summit

Filthy Summit

Go off the mountain — and off the rails.

A gloriously "dirty" riff on the neon-green legend of Mountain Dew, this boozy filthy soda is layered with citrus vodka, melon liqueur, fresh lime, a dirty splash of olive brine, and topped with a cloud of cream soda for that sweet, syrupy gas-station energy. It's trashy, it's electric, it's unapologetically extra — like a Mountain Dew that went to bartending school and immediately dropped out.

Glass: Tall highball glass, preferably a retro diner-style glassGarnish: A skewer of three neon-green Maraschino cherries and a lime wheel dusted with citric acid sugarPrep: 4 minutesDifficulty: Easy

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz citrus vodka
  • 0.5 oz Midori melon liqueur
  • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.25 oz simple syrup
  • 0.5 oz olive brine (the 'dirty' element)
  • 2 dashes orange bitters
  • 3 oz cream soda, chilled
  • 1 oz Mountain Dew, chilled (float)
  • Ice (plenty of it)

Instructions

  1. Fill a tall highball glass to the brim with ice.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine the citrus vodka, Midori, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, olive brine, and orange bitters.
  3. Add ice to the shaker and shake hard for 10–12 seconds — you want this frothy and cold.
  4. Strain the shaken mixture over the fresh ice in the highball glass.
  5. Slowly pour the chilled cream soda down the side of the glass to preserve the fizz.
  6. Gently float the Mountain Dew on top by pouring it over the back of a bar spoon for a neon-green crown.
  7. Garnish with the skewer of three neon-green Maraschino cherries and a citric-acid-dusted lime wheel balanced on the rim.
  8. Serve immediately with a wide straw and zero regrets.
