Finally Free

Nine months of waiting, one glorious sip.

A celebratory, effervescent cocktail that captures the euphoric relief and joy of that long-awaited first drink after pregnancy. It opens with bright, citrusy bubbles — a burst of freedom — then settles into a warm, honeyed depth that nods to the softness and sweetness of new parenthood. The gold shimmer echoing the glow of a brand-new mom or dad.

Glass: Champagne fluteGarnish: A dehydrated lemon wheel dusted with edible gold powder, balanced on the rimPrep: 4 minutesDifficulty: Easy

Ingredients

  • 2 oz elderflower liqueur (St-Germain)
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 oz honey syrup (1:1 honey to warm water)
  • 2 dashes peach bitters
  • 3 oz brut Champagne or Prosecco, chilled
  • Edible gold luster dust, for shimmer

Instructions

  1. Add the elderflower liqueur, fresh lemon juice, honey syrup, and peach bitters to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake vigorously for about 12–15 seconds until well chilled.
  3. Double-strain into a chilled champagne flute.
  4. Give a tiny pinch of edible gold luster dust directly into the glass and give it a swift, gentle swirl to create a golden shimmer throughout the liquid.
  5. Top slowly and carefully with the chilled Champagne or Prosecco — pour down the side of the glass to preserve the bubbles.
  6. Garnish with a dehydrated lemon wheel dusted with edible gold powder balanced proudly on the rim.
  7. Raise the glass, take a breath, and toast to yourself — you earned this.
